Maybe you have tried the pub or club “dating dance” and found it to be exhausting (both physically and mentally). Maybe you have spent hours filling out essay questions and trolling through searches and member profiles on internet dating sites (whether Christian or secular), only to come up empty-handed and feeling frustrated. Maybe you have even tried speed dating, and found it to be good for a laugh, but nothing more than that. Possibly, you are already actively involved in various networks and social groups in an effort to meet people (e.g. small groups, sports clubs; volunteering; social activities; work-based events, etc), but somehow, you just never seem to meet the “right” kind of person you could potentially date long term….

We at Soul Alike believe that personal introductions is the way to go. As the saying goes: “Everyone needs an introduction”, and since time immemorial, there has been a role for the qualified, empathetic “introducer”. Think of the happy married couples you know. How many of them were not introduced originally by a mutual friend or caring third party? The role of the qualified matchmaker goes back a very long way – through many cultures, religions and ages. In reality, our society today is not that different from those of yore. Perhaps the reasons we need matchmakers now are different than what they once were (i.e. necessitated more by our busy lives and careers, and our subsequent lack of time to meet people, rather than mandated by society.) But the end result, and NEED, remains the same. The need for someone who can really get to know you, and figure out what makes you tick, and who makes it their sole purpose to find suitable potential partners for you, is still as great as ever. And let’s face it, with the busy lives we lead, and the lack of available time, isn’t it a relief to know that there could be someone out there who could invest the necessary hours and energy to do the “heavy lifting” and find those people that are suitable “first date” material for you?

Ultimately, no one but you yourself can determine whether someone is THE “one” – because that is based on the fundamental chemistry between two people, which only you can feel, but we can certainly dramatically shorten the cycle for you by ensuring that the people that are presented to you as first dates - at a minimum - meet your basic “deal-breaker” requirements for what you are looking for in a partner!
